What is COLOURLOCK Top Coat used for? — This clear coat permanently protects colour-repaired leather, boosts abrasion and sweat resistance, and gives you a matte, satin or glossy OEM finish on automotive and furniture surfaces.
COLOURLOCK Top Coat (Car & Furniture) is the professional protective coat for every leather repair and colour refresh. It seals the coloured layer, shields it from abrasion, sweat, rubbing and day-to-day wear, and lays down an even, true-to-original finish. Depending on the sheen you pick — matte, satin or glossy — you dial the look in to match OEM automotive leather or furniture surfaces exactly. That makes the Top Coat the one step you don't skip at the end of any quality leather repair.
Top Coat builds a flexible, hard-wearing polymer film that protects the colour underneath for the long haul. Leather surfaces — especially in a car — take a real beating: sweat, friction, moisture, contact with clothing, cleaning cycles. The Top Coat seals the coloured surface without killing its natural give. The formulation stops early gloss loss and colour rub-off and leaves an evenly reflecting finish. Mix in Crosslinker CD and you push the durability even higher, particularly on steering wheels or hard-worked bolsters.
After colour build-up or repair, the surface has to be fully dry and grease-free. You lay Top Coat down thin and even with a sponge, airbrush or spray gun. For a flawless finish, go for several light coats with short flash-off times between them. The sheen you choose sets the final look — matte for modern automotive leather, satin for furniture and interior parts, glossy for decorative jobs. If you blend in Crosslinker or Duller, stir the components in well and work them in promptly. Only once it's fully cured is the surface ready to take a load again.
After application the leather gets a stable, easy-care, hard-wearing surface that keeps repairs protected for the long run. Top Coat works on vehicles, furniture, bags, shoes and every pigmented leather type. It's not a care cream and it's not a dye — it's the final protective film that finishes the repair and makes it last. Duller steers the sheen, Crosslinker bumps up durability, Soft Slip improves the hand feel. The Top Coat itself is the heart of the finishing process.
Matte for modern car leather, satin for furniture or all-round jobs, glossy for decorative surfaces.
Yes. For hard-worked surfaces like steering wheels, though, Crosslinker is well worth it.
Usually one to two thin coats. More coats add protection, but don't build them up too thick.
It's made for pigmented smooth leather and faux leather, not for aniline, nubuck or suede.
No, it protects and stabilises the colour without tinting it. The sheen can shift how it reads slightly.
