GYEON Q²M QuickDetailer brings back a warm carnauba gloss with no water and no wash

What is the GYEON Q²M QuickDetailer? A carnauba-based quick detailer for daily upkeep between washes that gently lifts dust film, fingerprints and light water spots off paint, glass and plastic while leaving a warm, natural carnauba gloss behind. You can use it on dry paint, on ceramic coatings, waxes and sealants, and as a drying aid on a wet car. Not the right tool for heavy dirt, brake dust, dried-on bird droppings or temperatures below 10 °C — that calls for a wash.

GYEON Q²M QuickDetailer is a carnauba-based quick detailer from GYEON that lifts dust film, fingerprints and light water spots off paint surfaces without using any water, while building up a thin carnauba wax film at the same time. The gloss is different from what you get with pure silicone-polymer detailers: warmer, more natural, and without the slightly plasticky finish that cheaper alternatives leave behind. The product comes in three sizes — 500 ml, 1 litre and 4 litres.

The way it works is physically simple: carnauba wax lays down as a hard, thin film over the existing paint or sealant layer and forms a hydrophobic skin. Dust grains and the grease from fingerprints cling to that film less, so you can lift them off with the microfibre cloth without any mechanical pressure. The one thing you always need is a clean cloth — a cloth you've already used once that smears will drag the particles across the paint instead of lifting them, and that leaves micro-scratches you'll spot on dark paint in raking light.

Detailing1's tip from the shop: The most common mistake with the Q²M QuickDetailer is spraying the product straight onto the paint and then spreading and buffing it with a single cloth. The result is streaks — instantly visible on dark paint in raking light. Better: 1–2 sprays onto a clean microfibre cloth (at least 320 GSM), spread it evenly across the panel, then buff with the clean back of the cloth or a second cloth. Two clean cloths per use aren't a luxury — they're the difference between streaks and a carnauba gloss.

Q²M QuickDetailer goes onto the cloth, not the paint — 1 to 2 sprays per panel are enough, and the product spreads evenly without flashing off.

1 to 2 sprays onto the cloth are enough for a normal section: bonnet, roof or a side flank. You run the cloth across the surface with light, even pressure, then flip it and buff the area with the clean side. Each section takes under 60 seconds. A compact car is done in 8 to 10 minutes — no water hookup, no drying time afterwards.

As a drying aid you can also use the Q²M QuickDetailer on the wet car: 2–3 sprays onto the drying towel and the cloth glides more evenly over the paint, leaves fewer water spots and builds the carnauba layer at the same time. The water on the surface thins the product slightly — usage drops to about 20–25 ml per car, and the gloss is marginally lower than on fully dry paint.

One thing to watch: don't work on hot surfaces or in direct sun. Carnauba wax flashes off on hot paint before it spreads evenly, and then leaves dried-on streaks that only come off with more cloth and more pressure. Early in the morning or in the shade, the QuickDetailer works reliably every time. The surface shouldn't feel warmer than 25 °C under direct sun — if it's clearly warmer, let it sit in the shade for 10 minutes and only then start spraying.

Dust film and fingerprints, yes. Brake dust and bird droppings, no.

Q²M QuickDetailer is built for light, dry dirt — dust film after a garage run, fresh fingerprints, light streaks after the last bit of rain. You can lift this kind of contamination off safely with the slip formula and no risk of scratching.

With brake dust, dried-on bird droppings, building-site grime or salt deposits the Q²M QuickDetailer won't do the job — and that's not a weakness in the product, it's physics. This kind of dirt needs either water to pre-wet it or specific chemical actives the product doesn't contain. If you try to wipe dried-on bird droppings off with a quick detailer, you're risking scratches — the droppings get pushed across the paint with the cloth instead of being softened and lifted. In those cases: pre-wet or wash first, and only then bring in the QuickDetailer as the finish.

Below 10 °C carnauba wax loses its ability to bond. The film goes on and looks good right after you apply it, but it has no measurable grip left and gets mostly rinsed away with the next rain. In winter the GYEON Q²M WetCoat, which is polymer-based and cross-links more efficiently at lower temperatures, is the better pick for regular upkeep.

On ceramic sealants the Q²M QuickDetailer works as a top layer and is explicitly approved for these surfaces. It's no replacement for a dedicated coating-refresher product — but it keeps the gloss and the hydrophobics noticeably higher between detailing intervals than you'd have without any upkeep. Combine the two — QuickDetailer weekly, refresh product every six to eight weeks — and you measurably extend the coating's lifespan.

Surfaces with a regular carnauba top layer trap less fine dust in the sealant structure and clean up fully at the next wash with far less shampoo. So the QuickDetailer doesn't just cut down the upkeep between washes, it makes the washes themselves more efficient.

Application of GYEON Q²M QuickDetailer

On the cloth, not on the paint — this keeps the dosage controlled

Spray 1-2 pumps onto a clean microfiber towel (at least 320 GSM) before the towel touches the paint. Apply to the panel — hood, roof or side panel — with even, consistent pressure, then buff with the clean side of the towel or a second towel. The product spreads evenly without drying. This takes less than 60 seconds per panel.

As a drying aid on a wet car: Spray 2-3 pumps onto the drying towel, then wipe off as usual. The carnauba wax film builds up at the same time. Consumption on a wet vehicle: approx. 20-25 ml instead of the usual 40-50 ml on dry paint — the water content slightly dilutes the product.

A compact vehicle is completely finished in 8 to 10 minutes. No water connection, no drying time afterwards. Plan for two clean towels per application: one for spreading, one for buffing.

Notes: Do not use for heavy soiling such as brake dust, dried bird droppings or construction site dirt — these particles require pre-wetting with water and would be pushed across the paint with the cloth instead of being lifted off. Do not apply in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces above 25 °C: Carnauba wax dries before it spreads. Do not use at temperatures below 10 °C.
