What is GYEON Q² PPF EVO? GYEON Q² PPF EVO is a dedicated ceramic coating for paint protection film (PPF) – it grips the chemically odd PPF surface beautifully, protects the film against yellowing and clinging dirt for the long haul, and stretches its lifespan well beyond what bare film manages.

Paint protection film (PPF) is a serious investment in your car's paintwork – but left untreated, PPF itself has no defence against UV, dirt and yellowing. GYEON Q² PPF EVO closes that gap: a ceramic coating tuned to the chemical surface of polyurethane (PU) film, delivering everything a SiO₂ coating gives you on top of the film – water beading like crazy, UV protection and a self-cleaning effect, all without killing the self-healing trait so many PPF products rely on.

Let fresh PPF cure for at least 7–14 days before you seal it – freshly wrapped film hasn't settled into its final surface chemistry yet. PPF without a coating: why paint protection film needs extra protection

Polyurethane film (PPF) is brilliant at protecting paint – it shields the clearcoat from stone chips, scratches and abrasion. But PPF itself isn't immune to the outside world: UV attacks the film and leads to yellowing (most visible on clear film over light paint), baked-on dirt and hard-water deposits can damage it for good, and with no hydrophobics, dirt clings harder and is tougher to shift. GYEON Q² PPF EVO closes all those gaps – tailored ceramic protection for a surface that itself protects.

How to apply: lay Q² PPF EVO onto paint protection film the right way

Prepping the PPF surface is what makes or breaks it. The film has to be fully cured (with fresh PPF, wait at least 7 days), then clean it thoroughly with a PPF-safe shampoo and degrease with Q²M Prep. Lay Q² PPF EVO down thin and even with the supplied applicator. After the flash-off, work it through with a fresh microfibre cloth. Curing takes 12–24 hours – keep the car dry during that window. Done right, the PPF then beads like crazy, which makes self-cleaning and upkeep a lot easier.

PPF EVO for different film types: gloss and matte

GYEON Q² PPF EVO works on both gloss and matte PPF. On gloss PPF the coating deepens the gloss and colour depth – the sealed result often looks better than fresh uncoated film. On matte PPF the matte character stays put – Q² PPF EVO doesn't change the surface, it protects it. With matte film, a clean application matters even more: lay it on too thick and you can get local glossy patches on matte surfaces.

Asking whether you can just slap a normal ceramic coating onto PPF is a fair question. Short answer: it often works for a while, but not optimally. PU film has a different surface tension to clearcoat – regular coatings bond worse, bead unevenly and can lift off sooner.
